Good news: it's snowing up at Lake Mountain! So in a few hours, I'll be on the bus to Marysville, where I'll be camping for the next three nights in order to get three full days of XC skiing in:D It'll be my first time in four months, so I'm really looking forward to it.
In other news, it's probably a good thing I have that to look forward to, because I can't run much at the moment. Yep, you guessed it, the 101.5k workout on Sunday tore me to shreds and now I'm getting pain up my shins. I'm pretty confident it's just muscular, but I want to let it rest fully before running again.
It's made me realise that it really wasn't worth it. Sure I knew it was a crash training week and that this week would be pretty pathetic to compensate, but to have to skip quite a few important running workouts cancels out any benefits I would've gotten from doing that much on Sunday.
I had an amazing crash on Tuesday - felt fine on Monday, but I had absolutely no energy the next day and my resting heart rate was up to 60 from my normal average of 39-45:O Ironically, I only started feeling better once I did my workout on the cross trainer and went for a short (and becoming painful) jog.
Perhaps due to my impaired judgement, I bought a Garmin FR 205 from Al's pro sport watches that night:D Can't wait for it to arrive:D

Good luck healing up from your intense run. I feel your pain. The pain of not being able to run, that is. Take care.
