A century and possible insanity

A day in the life of a lunatic:

12:10PM: 45 minutes on cross trainer. Have to stop a few times. Resistance dialled down to lowest setting. (93.5k/8:37)
1:10AM: Short break. Eat apple. Drink 1L of juice + 1L of water.
1:30AM: 40 minutes on cross trainer. Hard, but manage to go the whole way without stopping. Legs absolutely trashed. (101.5k/9:17)

Hmm, yes, that sure wasn't in my schedule:O I'd planned to just do 50k to make it to 180k for the week, but after the rollerblading, I was still feeling strong, so decided to keep going til 70. After 68k, I was feeling fantastic, and knew I could easily get to 80k, and had in the back of my mind that I could get to 100. It turned into an endurance test - how much could my muscles take before they literally could not contract any longer? In the end, 100k was about that point. I could've done a little further, but I was pretty destroyed by the end. There was no pain, but I was just incredibly sore and could barely walk up the stairs to bed. It was pretty satisfying though:)

The day after I was sore, but surprisingly less sore than Sunday night. I don't seem to get DOMS when I spend a lot of time on the cross trainer. It was tough walking to the train station in the morning, but I loosened up after a while, and it wasn't too bad. Managed to do 80 minutes on Monday night at level 5 resistance, which wowed me a little. My rate of recovery is getting to be pretty impressive (wouldn't have been able to run for that long though haha:P).

------------------------------------------------------------
Totals for the week: 230.30km/21:52 (Running: 83.8k/7:52 = 5:38/k)

I had a really good week actually. My hill workouts got better and better as the week went on. The horrible hill is now starting to feel quite manageable and I'm building up some serious speed on the downhill section (probably should slow down actually, my shins got pretty sore after the last workout).

This week is another hard week of training (but probably not as hard as last week:S), and then I'm going to take a recovery week to taper for the Sri Chimnoy 30k race on 20th July. I've always wanted to do a 30k race, so I'm really looking forward to it. I don't really have a goal, I'm just going to use it as a fitness check. Somewhere between 1:56:30 (equiv to a 1:20 HM) and 2:06:40 (equiv to my 1:26:57 HM PB) would be pleasing.
